Session 7.13 for March 29, 2015
When Jesus goes to the garden of Gethsemane to pray on the night he is arrested, we see a side of him we have not yet seen in the gospels. In this scene, Jesus is hurting and grieving. He is confessing that he does not want to go through with what is about to happen and he asks God to change the plan. What happens when we pray? Is it difficult for us to be so honest with God as we see Jesus being in the garden? How does it make us feel when we see Jesus so uncertain? Prayer is an important part of a life a faith and when we pay attention to how Jesus prayed, we can find new ways to engage God in prayer.
