Session 4.53 for December 30, 2012

After the majesty and awe of the Christmas scene with baby Jesus in a manger, he grows up. In Luke 2:41-52, we hear the only story of Jesus’ childhood as he leaves his parents’ side to visit the temple. In this account, Jesus illustrates his understanding of divinity and God’s claim on his life. Joseph and Mary do not understand; yet Mary cherishes these things in her heart as she has faith that transcends understanding. Mary shows us that even when we do not understands, God’s revelations are still meaningful and worthy of remembrance.
