No Answers, But Presence

Session 4.44 for October 28, 2012

For the past few weeks, we have discussed the story of Job, a man who lost everything, lived in anguish, and never stopped seeking God in the midst of his pain. Last week, we saw that Job began to ask God questions, and we talked about the questions that we have for God. We saw that God answers Job’s questions with more questions. This week, we see Job settling into God’s presence and feeling God in the midst of the pain and anguish. Then, we learn that there is a light at the end of the tunnel – Job’s suffering and torment finally gives way to blessings. Job surely does not forget his experiences. Rather, these experiences leave Job with a deeper sense of faith and awareness of God’s presence.
