Session 4.41 for October 7, 2012
In today’s lesson from Job, we hear about a good and wise man who faced incredible loss and suffering. We glimpse a conversation between God and an Adversary in which God allows Job’s suffering. We hear Job’s wife asking her husband to “curse God and die” to which Job replies “Shall we receive the good at the hand of God, and not receive the bad?" For much of Job’s life, he was a faithful and blameless man who received many blessings and was loyal to God. At this point in his life, Job is experiencing great pain and loss, yet he is still loyal to God – even when the blessings have dried up.
