Session 3.52 for December 25, 2011
Today’s text Isaiah 9:2-7. Many of us could quote parts of this text from memory thanks to Handel’s, Messiah. “For unto us a child is born,” has become synonymous with Christmas time and the birth of Jesus. However, the birth of Jesus is likely not what Isaiah was thinking about when he wrote this passage. Rather, he was likely hoping for someone who would save Israel from the trials it was facing in his lifetime.
